U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) today released the following statement on the announcement by Raytheon Missile Systems, headquartered in Tucson, Arizona, that it has executed a $149 million contract to produce, with Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., key parts for the Tamir interceptor used in the Iron Dome missile defense system:

"I am very proud that Arizona workers at Raytheon will be helping protect our ally Israel by providing key parts of the Iron Dome missile defense system, which has saved the lives of thousands of Israelis from Hamas rocket fire. Both Israel and the United States will be stronger and more secure thanks to hard-working Arizonans."
